The State Library of NSW is home to many spectacular venue hire spaces available for your next event. The grand elegance of the historic Mitchell building, coupled with the modern versatility of the Macquarie building, makes the Library a charming and unique setting to host a variety of events. The Library provides a full suite of services, including catering, security and event staff.

The Library’s venues are open. The venue hire team is here to help plan your next meeting or event in accordance with the current NSW Health Orders. We can facilitate hybrid onsite and remote meetings or events. We have protective measures in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone who comes through our doors. As we are operating within a limited capacity, we have temporarily reduced our venue hire fees. Please email us at venue.hire@sl.nsw.gov.au to discuss your next event.
